Mixed martial arts (MMA) is a full contact combat sport that allows a wide variety of fighting techniques, from a mixture of martial arts traditions and non-traditions, to be used in competitions. The rules allow the use of striking and grappling techniques, both while standing and on the ground, all using various martial arts such as boxing, wrestling, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, Muay Thai, kickboxing, karate and other styles. Such competitions allow martial artists of different backgrounds to compete.
Training for an MMA competition demands hours of dedication and practice. It may take years for somebody to learn the several MMA techniques and how to utilize it for fighting. Again Storm has many top UK fighters, past and present include Arunas Andriuskevicius who has fought all over the world, to Dale Hardiman who is the current British Champion, and soon to be representing Storm Gym on the top promotion BAMMA.
With state of the art training tchniques and facilities that are second to none, training in MMA is hard but the benefits whether it be for fitness or for competitions has its own rewards.
All classes and training sessions can be paid as you go with a relevant class/workout or day pass. For those that want to train twice a week or more, then a monthly membership is seriously worth considering to save money. We also offer 12-month contract (offering a lower monthly rate. Both memberships are paid by direct debit.
